Quickest turnaround

Well I did the little "quiz" with the doctor and I had .more yeses than nos. So she now wants the bloodwork done but if it is anything like last years I am definitely a go.

I also get to choose my hospital! So with all your vast knowledge, who has the quickest turnaround time after the referral? I am looking either Guelph, TWH or Hamilton.

I think HRRH Humber river does.

Starting weight: 334 lbs.Starting opti weight: 323 lbs, Surgery weight 303 lbs.Surgery-May 21st, 2013 with Dr Hagen at HRRH Goal weight 165 lbs reached at 13 months. Current weight 156 lbs

Of those three choices TWH is the fastest for sure. That's where I'm through and have had nothing but great experiences

Referral May 2013 / orientation at TWH June 27 / nurse practitioner July 3 / social worker August 19 / nutrition class August 26 / nutritionist August 30 / psychologist September 3 / meet surgeon (Dr. Penner) September 20 / PATTS October 10 / Surgery October 18 2013!

I am not sure how quick you want but I am going through Guelph and my referral was last April. I am part way through the process I have been for Orientation, met with the SW,RN,RD, had my pre op class and on Dec 4th I see the SW,RN,RD for my second time. I am hoping at time to get sent on to see the doc. but you never know. The last time I was there I asked about how much longer it would be and they talked like it would be late winter or spring before I get my surgery. Good luck with your journey.

Out if the 3 I do believe TWH is the fastest, but I do think that HRRH, has the quickest turnaround. I liked TWH.

Humber and Toronto Western have the quickest. Though sometimes it seems Humber is faster because of the high volume. Just go by whatever is closer to you.

Orientation May 2013, Surgeon( Dr.Lindsay) July 17, Rescheduled RN/NUT/ SW and got lucky with a cancellation July 18, Dr.Linsday 2nd appt Aug.19, Dr.Lindsay was overbooked switched to Dr.Starr on Oct.8, Surgery Dr.Starr Nov.8,2013

I was with Humber and it was really slow for me. It depends on the surgeon you see in my opinion. My friend had a different doctor, she had her surgery 7 months before me and we were seen together.

I am very new to this forum. I have been referred to HRRH and when I called to get information the recording said 12 to 14 months wait!!! I hope this is not the general rule!! Any information about this would be helpful.

My advice would be to call in a few weeks to check on your referral. Sometimes, they get lost. You can also get a orientation date faster when you check in. I went Orientation last December 2012 and had my surgery in October 2013. My friend had orientation the same day as me but she had surgery in April 2013. It all depends......
