I Did it!! First full marathon completed!
So. I did it. I finished my first full marathon. My time was 4:31 and a bit. I ran most of it, maybe walked 2 minutes of it. LOL I was shocked at how well my knee held out and just kept on running. The energy there was amazing, and the cheerleaders were awesome. I smiled and waved through the whole thing lol. Below is a pic of me sprinting to the finish, then with my medal and lastly...a reminder of where I started before sugery March, 2011.
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
Athough I didn't have my surgery at that hospital (I was at Toronto East), it's my centre. I e-mailed Katie my photos :-)
I thought of how far i've come when I looked up at the hospital as I ran by.
