This morning I ran 10k in 48 minutes and 23 seconds. I can't believe I actually did that. I NEVER would have thought it possible three years ago.

Full marathon 3 weeks Sunday (i'm crazy excited over this...so yep, i'll be posting away) .

Please know, it was posts like this that helped me get through the long wait for surgery, so I hope that it might help some new friends out there too.

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

I hated HATED running when I started. Then I just kept doing it and now I LOVE it...so weird.

Congrats Kelly!  Read this post over lunch and decided to heck with it, I start the Couch to 5K tonight (and downloaded it)!  Though I've been busy with the personal training and kickboxing and elliptical (feeling pretty good about those things), I've been putting off the running (because I hated it so much as an overweight kid!)  But you finally got me!  I'll give it a shot.  So yes, you are inspiring.  Keep going and keep posting!

That's awesome!!! I did Couch to 5K very briefly. I got annoyed at it, and said screw it, and went back to spinning class. Then one day I put on running shoes and went out with my BF. Although I was a spinning queen, I couldn't run for more than a few minutes at a time. We did about a half an hour....and then I didn't run again for a few months.

With that said. I just looked at my stats from a year ago. I did the same 10k....and it took me 85 minutes. I can't believe what a difference a year makes!

Kelly, you give me a glimmer of hope that I will get faster, I'm taking 85mins. to run 10k now. I started running in January and did my second 10k race 2 weeks ago.

I've been thinking of you and Julia P both when I've been doing my walks this week with the power walking and the push at each end of the power walks that is a light jog. It's surreal to me that I'm even jogging a bit. I hope to run at least a 5K next year.

No, I'm def. not tired of hearing about your PB! Bring them on!!!!!

Awesome! You'll be running more in no time. You'll actually WANT to, that's the funny part!
