Scale is not moving!

I hear this so often, and I want to share with you something that i'm experiencing, and just how important measuring can be.

I never took measurements. I wish I did. Even at goal, I wish I did.

I am 2.5 years post RNY, and I have been training for a marathon. I'm not surprised that the scale hasn't budged an inch. And, much to my own shock, I am not upset by it. I like where I am. I used to weigh daily, and now I weigh once a week. This feels good for me.

Anyhow, my kid's caregiver told me yesterday that she can't believe how much weight i've lost since I started running a lot more. I said that was funny because the scale is the same. So I figured I looked the same.

Well I put on my fall/spring coat this morning (it's still summer!! boooo) and it is MUCH looser than it was in the spring.

Lesson learned. Just because the scale doesn't change....doesn't mean our bodies don't. :-) This goes for a stall at any point on your journey.

Well said Kelly!    I have found that too--- as soon as I put on clothing, even if the scale hasn't changed, often I can see it in the clothing.

That's great Kelly. Funny how other people often are the ones who see our changes better than we do.

I am very thankful that I did measure. I did it the night before I started Optifast.

Keep on running girl!

Very smart. The only measurements I had to go by were from the last musical I was in, prior to the surgery. The next show I did, I was aroun 10 pounds to goal (15 pounds to where I am now) and the wardrobe ladies were fascinated with my measurements!! Lol

I totally agree. I have taken measurements pre-op and so far once per month and that is more interesting to me!! I love the inches sometimes more than the lbs!!
