WOW congratulations. 30k to me is getting in my car and driving. At this point I can not even imagine running 1km let alone 30km. Great stuff, you are an inspiration.

That's so amazing, you must be so joyous & proud. For me too, 30 km is a car ride!
I have noticed that I can walk faster & swim faster & further - but those are such small achievements in comparison to running more than a block, far less 26km! But, to encourage pre-ops who are reading this - I couldn't even walk 5 minutes at first - even very slowly without sweating like a hog and collapsing onto my bed afterwards.
Did your knees or ankles or hips bother you when you began running? I used to have to ice my knees daily after walking 30-45 minutes and sometimes had to skip a day of walking when I started. Thankfully, I almost never have pain now when I walk or swim, and it no longer keeps me from going back out the next day..
Can everyone 'withstand' running after they lose weight or are some people's joints best suited to swimming or walking rather than running - and I don't mean running 30km?
Happy Saturday to everyone too! :D

Thank you for the answer and encouragement.
I've tried 'running' which is more like jogging because I'm not that fast, but I can't keep it up for very long, so I should walk and then jog, and maybe one day, I might run a little. I swim a lot, walk, and bike now. I still have quite a bit of weight to lose - I seem to be at a plateau - but then, I've become accustomed to the frustrations of being on a plateau.
