Post-Ops....remember when...?

It was excruciatingly painful to put on tights (that pair before you grudgingly gave up wearing them, or bought the bigger size)?

This I remembered so clearly today when I donned my new compression running pants. The effort it takes to get into these things. The manipulating my extra thigh skin (instead of fat) just right, so that I won't chafe, the pulling up one side an inch, and then the next....every bit brought back the memories!

At least I wasn't sweating buckets, breathing hard and dizzy after, or else I wouldn't even get to the run! LOL

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

OMG yes, I can relate -- I'm not putting on running pants, but I sure as heck remember in December getting in to pantyhose.  I just about dislocated a hip!   OK, an exaggeration, but so true.

Just consider the donning of the pants as part of your stretching and warmup.

Seriously, I am so proud of you -- you have no idea how much you inspire me.

Great post.

Hardly ever wear tights but the dizziness from trying to cut my toenails and the occasional hernia from said foot care was so frustrating!  So many things are easier now!  kiss

I remember hugging my knees to my chest for the first time. I had to clasp my hands tight to keep them there and I loved that! Yesterday I realized u sit like that a lot.....without my arms holding me tight....I'm holding my phone instead lol

I can just picture the torture you went through. It really did make me laugh. Guess the thighs will have to be the next to go
