Annoyed with Pre-op for Gall Bladder Interview - rant

I fluffed it off at first, as I have done with rude comments so many times before in my life. I wish I wasn't at work. Here's an example of how I was able to tell her off without raising my voice.

When she asked me about dumping syndrome, and I started to explain, she rudely interrupted me and said, "so you get diarrhea with that then?" (or something like that, and with a "so-what?" tone). Then I continued with the other symptoms and she was just "uh huhing" and such and I told her to look it up. She said, "Ah, no thanks. Sounds horrible." I agreed and then said that maybe she should research it, I wasn't suggested she find a way to get dumping syndrome.

I will most likely say something to my surgeon's staff when they call me with the surgery time. I don't know her name, but it will be documented somewhere.

Rant on Kelly, you deserve it.  What a big boob! I agree with another poster who said who said most people don't get it.  What are dog ears???

I totally agree, it's not her business, she had no right to offer her opinion and so much would depend on her tone of voice which was probably condescending.  She does need a slap upside her head and maybe a job review.

and I want to know also "what are dog ears"

Dog ears are basically extra bits of skin at either end of my panni scar. So there is leftover skin that she wasn't able to remove during surgery. When I put on undies or a bikini bottom I have to adjust (read: tuck in) the sides. It's no biggie to me, but she can fix it, an with a local....so I'm all for that! She immediately asked if I lost weight since the PS, but the scale shows the same, but I'm runnin more so thingsay have shifted. Who knows?

I wonder whether she felt freer to ask these ridiculous questions because it wasn't in person.  Some people have no sense of professionalism!  I'd almost want to meet her and see the look on her face when you introduce yourself!  Kudos to you for remaining calm and being the professional one in that conversation - maybe she'll learn something, or is that too much to hope?

Kelly I had to read your post twice because I couldn't believe what I was reading. I would honestly report her conduct. This person was totally unprofessional and borderlines on being a bully. Calling you a smartass, really..What gives her the right to call people names. Her job is to ask questions on her page not to dive into your personal life.

Sorry you had to go through this....Some people are just ******** and shouldn't be in the healthcare field.

Congrats on not giving her the tong lashing she deserves

Ann :-)
