Barrie Area support group?

Morning all,

T minus 68 days till my surgery(who's counting) and 28 days till we move to Angus from Kingston.

Wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a WLS support group in the Barrie area?

If the group is even close to the supportive, understanding ,inspiring and informed group here in Kingston I would be a lucky guy indeed.

Welcome to Angus in 28 Days . I live in Angus moved there about three months ago and I love the quiet. Barrie does have a support group not sure when the next group is though. JUst wanted to say Welcome to Angus and to your WLS thats around the coner.

Orientation: July 23 2012 Dr Sullivan : August 16, 2012 Dietician, SW, RN, Sept 26, 2012 Dr Sullivan Oct 17, 2012 and pick up Optifast PATTS: October 24, 2012 Surgery: November 6, 2012. Starting weight 277 surgery weight 268

I think? it is every 3rd Saturday of the month at 1:00pm...on Ferris Lane - but I forget the exact location.

January 8th, 2013 - VSG with Dr Paul Sullivan (St Joe's Toronto)

Hey guy.

There is a group that meets in Barrie, third saturday of each month, so that'll be July 20th, at 1 or 130 (hopefully someone will clarify).The group meets at the church of the nazarene on Ferris Lane, in the family room. It's a really good, supportive group. I think you'll like it!

THere's also a group that meets in Orillia for coffee on a monthly basis, they're gettting together this thursday evening.

There will be no group in July or August. Everyone is busy in the summer. There may be a picnic in August.

Yes it is the third Saturday of the month and it is located at The Church of Nazerene 49 Ferris Lane, Barrie. It is usually 1 - 4. I have only been a couple times but very supportive people in the group. Welcome to Angus. We used to live there and my sister and family have for years.

Thanks for the reply and the warm welcome.

Were looking forward to setting into our home in Angus and the Barrie community as well. Being military they hav'nt been the most supportive of my choice of surgery so it will be nice to meet some like minded informed people in the group.
