Sleep Clinics- Cambridge area
Going through program at Guelph. They require a sleep study if you fall within certain parameters. I am a borderline yes at the moment, so thought it would be in my best interest to get one done sooner than later. (Have no symptoms of sleep apnea, but blood pressure, neck size and bmi require me to have the test)
Awhile ago on the forum (tried to find the posts, but could not)..some members were talking of a clinic in the area that seemed to diagnose everyone with some form of sleep apnea and tried to sell them a machine. (in other words, the clinic was a money grab).
I would like to avoid that happening.
Has anyone heard of one clinic being better than another..
Thoughts?
Much appreciated,
Vicky

That would be horrible if true! A sleep clinic normally does the testing and the results are read by a sleep specialist Dr, who normally work through hospitals and not work for the study place. Your results are depended on your results period, you would get a copy of your report as well which would /should show what occurred during your study and their recommendations for a unit or not.
I would honestly be very concerned if I thought I was 'sold' a unit and didn't need one. Your results are available to you, they may be written in 'Greek' but you should be able to see if you have it or not.
Good luck
Thanks guys for your replies...
Any info/insight is greatly appreciated.
