Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

Thank you Dawn. Your blog has taught me well....and I know that it can be tough time ahead as I enter year three and the dreaded gain as my body evens out. I'm trying hard to prepare myself for it!

Wow, amazing results! I'm not sure I'd have recognized you if I'd last seen you before surgery and then met you now. You must still get that when you meet people you haven't seen in a few years.

But more importantly, you are healthy and strong and happy, living the life you want to live and working on the issues you need to work on. That's really great - congratulations!

I do get that a lot, and now a new NSV was from my mom. My brother showed her my two year post on Facebook and said that he doesn't recognize me from my before pic! I spent over 20 years bouncing around that weight. So it's nice to hear that people see me as me now, not with the shock that I've lost so much. Know what I mean?

Wonderful story, and you look fabulous. Such a flat belly, I want that, too!

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.
