Ottawa September 21 Orientation group

Hello there,

For those out there who may  have been in my orientation class September 21st, 2012 at the civic hospital....has anyone received a call yet to meet the nurse? I haven't heard a thing yet. I know of someone who was in an orientation class in early September who has already met with the nurse and has had her appointments with the behaviorist and the dietician. That said, I also have not received an email from the confirmation email from the registry...was that suppose to happen, could this be my delay? I'm afraid to call the clinic in Ottawa, as I have heard from many that they don't like be hounded by over anxious people, which I totally understand. I did make a call a few weeks back to update my cell phone number and expressed concerns that I may have missed a call, but the lady on the other end was short and didn't address any of my concerns...I felt like I was being a nuisance, so I shied away into my hole where I continue to wait....tick tock...tick tock.

Thoughts anyone?

Not sure about your Center but for Guelph we had to call the clinic to book those appointments ..I'd hurry if they don't hear from you for a whole they assume you don't want the surgery after hearing the orientation

Here`s an update...I decided the heck with it, I`m calling, I just need to know. Apparently they have not started booking any appointments for anyone from my orientation class. They also pulled up my file to ensure it had everything they needed to ensure no delays. Phew......finally, some peace of mind.

Aiden: your timeline is crazy fast and unlike so many people who have to wait for what seems like forever. All I can say is GREAT!!!!, you must be one of the lucky ones I hear about from time to time that breeze through the pre-op journey.

 

Crazy fast is right. I had my surgery Jan 17, 2013... Was referred in April 2011, had orientation in jan 2012, saw the nurse in July 2012...

My orientation was July 6, 2012 and they called me in late October. There is one girl at the Ottawa desk who is always dismissive and condescending. Whenever she answers I ask my question and then always call back a bit later and get a much more helpful friendly person on the line.
