So there i was at pre-op for my panni surgery and The nurse did my heart rate and said, "Are you a runner by any chance?" I tell her I've been training for a marathon. she says she knew it and that i have the heart of an athlete...48 beats per minute lol!!

Then I almost cried listening to the anesthesiologist record his report about me and said how healthy I am, and how well I've done since RNY and that my previous health issues of high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, etc. have all been resolved. He was Di nice and really positive about both the rny and my panni surgery, saying he can imagine how much my life has changed in the past two years. Seriously grateful for my RNY and my health.

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

I really did!! I was walking around smiling like a goofball all day! Of course, now it's the middle of the night and i'm awake!! Two more sleeps!!

Thanks! What I love is that I'M proud if me. I spent years self-hating. This is a nice change.
