Running and Mother Nature do not mix (girly issue - I warned you fellas!)

Super-annoyed. I was scheduled to do a long run (16k) today, and I only did 10 (and yes, that's still wonderful that I can do that much, but i'm in marathon training) and off I went. It's day 3 of TOM, and still heavyish, but man it kicked my butt. Crampy, tired, and needing the bathroom.

Anyone have hints on what to do? I'm going to guess just suck it up, live with the fact I didn't finish my run as planned, and move on. LOL

I guess you can think that it's day 3 and should start to taper off soon ?   Then you can get back to running as scheduled.  Unfortunately there is just nothing you CAN do about it so I guess sucking it up is what you are going to have to do.

p.s. I am in awe of your 10 !  you are a machine Kelly !

I'll try again tomorrow, which is supposed to be only 5. I'll do 8 and make a happy medium. I came home and had a nice bath, watched my skin float for a bit, weighed myself and saw 129 pounds, so i'm happy. I mean, losing during TOM trumps finishing the last 6k no? lol

Kelly maybe do a TOM adjustment?

Start with running a split run... and adjust the variables... so... you ran 10. Go out later and do another 6-8... total for the day is 16... tomorrow run 11... and shift it to 5-7... etc.

Just a thought?

Def won't go out later. I'm all relaxed, bathed and happy, and getting on with my plan of cleaning and then snuggling with my man later. I'm not as annoyed anymore. Doing the reading, it's ok to make adjustments, it happens. Tomorrow I will run 8 (which is what my time for my busy day tomorrow will allow), and I shall get on with it. Thanks!

I do feel free when I run. Today, near the end, was not one of those days. I was thinking a lot during today's run about how I am running, and I could easily hold a conversation. So weird.

Congrats on doing 5k. Amazing!!

LOL Niki. There are times when I wonder if they will do the hysterectomy on me or not...most of the time I don't want one for a few years. Today I wish I had!! LOL

I feel much better after a super-hot bath!
