APPROVED for Panni!!! YAY!
You never know, you may not have to. I have a friend who lost over 170 pounds and ended up with a flat stomach. She works out (as do I), but she's a lucky lady with a flat belly :-)
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
Congratulations! You must feel so happy!

The doctor does the documentation for you. I had to get a referral from my family doctor first, and that was almost a year ago. Then they (the plastic surgeon's office) told me I needed to be at a stable weight for a year before they would see me. So they called me in for an August appointment. I met the surgeon for a preliminary appointment to talk about my options and if I qualified. I was borderline, so I didn't expect much. It was 4.5 months from that appointment to approval. I meet with her on January 18 and will most likely have the surgery in february.

So the time it takes from inquiry to surgery sounds about the same as the WLS itself. I will keep that in mind when my time comes. I just hope the province still covers it by the time I'm stable for a year!
I'm really happy for you, you've worked very hard for this!
