I too have been trying to find the right words to explain the journey. I usually tell people that I have made the commitment to change my lifestyle - eating healthy & proper portions, exercising regularly. This surgery is going to "boost" my weight loss, but I still have to do the rest of the work. Still not sure people understand that, as a lot of people still say "well I don't think you need the surgery".

But this is a great analogy!

LMAO...ok fine. Use it as a tool....it's not a tool per se!

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

well said and people should print this out and put it where they can read it on a regular basis.

  A good friend on here game me some wonderful words to which I have lived by for almost 4 years now
