I was numb listening to it. I am afraid I thought that couldn't the kid just commit suicide without killing so many people.

The only way to change this kind of thing...is to change the second amendment... NOT everyone should have the right to bear arms...Period... Make it difficult to get guns....make it not a household staple to own guns...

Availability gives people the opportunity to loose their ****

I can't even begin to wrap my head around this... Babies...this man killed so many babies.... :(  beyond words tragic.

I cannot agree more.  I am sad beyond measure for those parents, as I am sure everyone is.  It's unspeakable, and yet another reminder of what a broken place the world can be.

I have to say though, I am getting really irritated with all the FB comments that tell everyone to stop arguing about gun politics right now, and just grieve.  I really think that in times like these, grief should prompt action so the grief does not have to repeat itself.  Not 1 week ago, there was the mall.  Before that it was the movie theater, before that the temple, and the Amish school, and, and, and......  If it were me and my family affected by this tragedy, I would want the rest of the country to cry outrage on my behalf, to try and stop this from happening again by tightening national gun laws.  Gun supporters in the US want everyone right now focused on the sadness, so as to forget that there is a major political issue surrounding this and the many other similar incidents that have happened in the US in recent times.  If all U.S. citizens do as a result of this tragedy is "grieve" and feel empathy for the parents and families of this horrible event but remain passive about the politics, it would be like a slap in the face, and a dishonor to all those precious little ones who died.

100% agree... That and the "God in school" bull **** Sorry but Guns, not God are the issue... if it was harder to get guns people wouldn't have so many!  Honestly how many people do you know who have a gun in Canada, in their house, for recreation, protection or just because I can!

What is the rate of mental illness in North America??  Anyone know that stat?

I know ONE person with a gun....not 12 guns ... not a gun rack full of guns... One person with One gun and a good reason to have it... I know personally more then  20 people who suffer from some form of mental illness...

In the states I would bet that ratio is very different.  1:20 might look more like 17:20??  Scary.... its no wonder this is happening and it needs to stop...and the buck stops with the gun control.  Will that mean never any gun violence or tragic events NO...but maybe just maybe if they would have done this at the beginning these babies would be alive....

THAT is the Tragic Logic!!

I once heard a statistic that actually there are guns per person in Canada than in the US. The difference is the culture that surrounds them. I agree that this is a time for action. President ma suggested that in his speech
