My CT Scan etc. follow up

Thanks to Ann *****minded me that I hadn't written about my appointment at TWH on Friday.

I met a few people in the waiting room, so that was nice. I met with the Nurse and then Dr. Jackson. He went over my CT Scan and other results with me. He said that my gallbladder doesn't have stones, just the sludge, which could cause some pain, but it's not enough, or even often enough, to have it removed. He's not convinced that's what the pain has been from. Originally I went because my episode lasted hours and hours, and I hadn't gone to the bathroom in four days. Cause for alarm. I only had three episodes since then, and one coincided with my mid-month pain.

Basically the results are that everything looks normal from the ultrasound, scope and CT scan, and I pretty much have unexplainable pain sometimes. Two times I had eaten shrimp, so i've just stayed away from that.

OH! I did talk about my liver. He said it is a big large, but is most likely still large from being overweight and it will shrink in time. He said it's very healthy looking, and doesn't look like a liver with too much booze. My three glasses of wine a week is perfectly fine (good thing I didn't have that CT scan after saturday....wedding....wine and silliness ensued!)

Oh! And my NUT sought me out and we chatted about calories and such and set point (which she reminded me is just a theory). She made me feel better about where I am, and understand my need to weigh myself still and keep logging my food and exercise intake. It's a need for me, not a need for everybody. I've let go of the number. As long as it doesn't go up, i'm good!

Oh yes, it's under control, and only a handful of times has it happened. Glad I did the tests anyway!

Happy for you!

And i am glad your nut helped you out with the set point thing

I read the "theory" in the article you gave me and I have to say that it is pretty discouraging, well at least to me!

But remember the numbers are not important, what is important is how YOU and only YOU feel!

Karine.
