Hate being overweight
i did something similar. My dog had run across the road to a neighbours, i went over there to pick him up, and when i turned to go back home, i fell straight onto my knees, right in front of a whole garage sale full of people. So embarrassing, wrecked knees, etc.
now i hardly ever fall.
hugs, friend. this will change for you.

Awww. That really sucks. Hope you feel better soon.
I have to say that for as much as I love my crocs (8 pairs that I actively wear including 2 pairs of heels) they are terrible in the rain. I've slipped in them too many times to count. Damn them.

I have so been there too... many falls when I was at my heaviest and they always seemed to be in the most public places possible!
Once while travelling for work I had a bad fall and took out both ankles at the same time, ended up in hospital via ambulance (barely, since the ambulance had trouble getting me in), and then ended up stranded in a foreign city. It was terrible.
In NY last week on a fashionable stretch of Broadway, I caught a curb and went down face first. I was AMAZED at how quickly I rolled back up to my feet, and how not injured I was despite the fall.
Surgery may not make me any less clumsy, but it sure makes me more resiliant! Hang in there - you're on the journey and it will move so fast that it will be a blur! We're with you.

Going into nursey mode here. Sorry. LOL
Can you walk more than 4 steps on it? If not, xray.
Feel around the ankle and down the bone that goes from the ankle to the baby toe. If there are areas of extreme tenderness, xray.
If you can't weight bear I am worried there may be a fracture.

Thanks for the concern macrobug1.
I have self diagnosed my self as having a grade 2 sprain.... you should see the lovely bruising I have sprouted.
It is getting mostly better so I believe all should be fine... today for some reason it swelled up again but I am also back to work on my chair so I probably just need to elevate it.
Thanks again!
