I'm just curious how soon out can you swallow your meds without having to crush them? I'm not on any capsule meds.
Also what stage can we eat Deli type meat? Pureed if we mix it with something?

Thank you all have a nice evening Heidi

Sometimes you just put one foot in front of the other, even if you don't know where you're going.

Heidi, if you're able to swallow them now, go for it. Or cut them in half and swallow if necessary. Many people have no problem at all swallowing pills shortly after surgery.

As for deli meat - I remember eating pureed deli ham with potatoes I think. lol

hehehe

Funny the things you remember, honestly. You'll remember too.  And you'll forget lots but hey... it likely wasn't big enough to remember.  I just recall that ham being sooooooo good with the potatoes, I felt like I struck gold. haha

I was given tylenol 325mg in the hospital, and given a script to take home for T3's. I took one the first night home and it went down just fine...no crushing or chopping needed.

i was splitting my pills shortly after surgery, i think 2-3 weeks or so?

just be careful, if they're not "scored" then you can't split them, as they may have an enteric coating.
Check with your pharmacist if you're unsure.

Dr. Huynh told me that I would have to crush my pills for 4 months after surgery.  I am not looking forward to that.  Wonder what his reasoning is.  I will have to ask him Tuesday.
