Hope it all turns out to be okay for you.  At least you are still in hospital and will get immediate care.  Thinking of you and speedy recovery

I bleed through the rectum too.

It went away after a day and a half and was not ultra heavy. They take your blood and watch your levels, so they won't discharge you with an active bleed. Given the cutting and stitching (stapling) that goes on, it's not surprising.

You're in the right place (better there than at home!) I hope the food at your hospital is better than it was at mine.

Best wishes.

That exact thing happened to me.  I freaked out and was sure I was dying.  the nurses calmed me down and explained that it happens some time.   it lasted almost a week and then it stopped and my stools were normal.

it really was shocking at the time.  dr. Raiche kept me in an extra day and I had to come back for one last blood work up.

Good luck.  I am sure you will be fine.

Hang in there kiddo! It's rough I know, but of all the places for this to happen, the hospital is the best one.

I'm not far from TEGH is there anything I can bring you? Don't hesitate to ask.

Wow, that would be freaky, especially since I haven't heard about this before on OH.  Good to know this has happened to other people and it goes away.  And as others have said, you're definitely in the right place!

I'm also just around the corner from TEGH.  If you're still in tomorrow (Sunday), I'd be happy to come by if you need anything, or even if you'd just like a visit from a friendly face.  I'd offer today, but I have plans this afternoon and evening for a family birthday.

Good luck, Heidi!
