Awe, sounds like your gall bladder is ready to be gone!  I had one severe gall bladder attack several years ago and ended up in emerg ( it is like no other pain I have ever experienced).  Had the tests and saw my family physician and her words were:  well you can either control it by diet or have it removed.  I said remove please and never looked back.  Why live in constant fear when you have a choice was my thinking.  Hope yours is sooner than later and best of luck.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I might just try to control with diet. We'll see what the GI says next Tuesday.

When I had my gall bladder issues I was also 7 months pregnant .. So because of the pregnancy AND  my allergies to most narcotics the doctors said to use 2 gravol (which knocked me flat on my ass****il it subsides on its own... I had to ride it out till my daughter was born and as soon as she was 6 weeks old I was in her OR having it removed. It came to a point a few times that the gravol was not working I had to go to the ER they were debating if they were going to take my daughter early by C-section and take the gallbladder it was that close to rupture

I never had an attack, but during an ultrasound the tech excused himself and came back with his supervisor, who proceeded to show me why she was there...  a gallstone and three little babies that looked to be about the size of a golf ball.  According to supervisor it was the largest she had ever seen, and upon being asked told me she had been doing this for almost thirty years.  The surgeon took almost three hours to get it out and it took the wind out of my sails for weeks!  I had residents come in and comment to each other (kinda dumb how they act like we can't hear) that I was THAT GUY that had the HUGE stone!

But its gone now!  I now don't really know whether my food reactions are from the rny or gallbladder removal.  Hope your gall problems resolve soon!  Ian

I don't think so.  I wanted to keep it but they wouldn't let me.  I should have named it!  Lmao

I have questions about gall bladder removal... does it hinder surgery in the future?  I hear so much about scar tissue and issues with gastric surgery and so on... and now I'm scared.

I went in for an upper GI and U\S and the scans showed gallstones :(  I've been having a lot of abdominal pain, sometimes so sharp that I am doubled over, but just chalked it up to eating things I know my body doesn't like... apparently I should of sought out an opinion soon!

So yeah... if I am to follow through with this laproscopic surgery... do you think it will affect me when my time comes for bariatric surgery?

Thanks in advance... and sorry to hijack your thread!!

Hi, my son is now 4 1/2 years old.  When he was just over 2 months out, I had a severe gallbladder attack with small stones. After hitting the ER 2 nights in a row, I was admitted and scheduled to have surgery on the followin Thursday (ER was Monday and Tusday and my hospital is small, so they only do surgeries once a week).

14 months ago, I had my RNY, they had no problems and there was no comments about my gallbladder surgery which was also labroscopic.  They just don't cut in the same spots.  So I have 2 series of scars in my belly.  Not a big deal.
