Been referred to Ottawa Hospital....Now What?

I was referred to the Bariatric Registry and assigned to Ottawa in March 2010 -- seventeen months and counting.  My timeline is in my blog.

Welcome to the Forum.  I am also in Ottawa.

My endocrinologist referred me to the Ontario Bariatric Registry in September 2010.  I had my first appointment with Dr. Wicklum in December 2010.  After all the other appointments I had surgery in December 2011.

Good luck on your journey.  Check out the monthly group meetings or the coffee nights.  Meet others on the same or similar journey.  Continue to read the forums and learn as much as you can.

Welcome.  I'm a year out as of last June.  It took me about 18 months to go from Dr. Dent to surgery.  And I was there when they changed the process, so I could have taken longer because of it.

Most are about 18 months, but it depends on your medical history and what tests you need and when you can get them.  Some are a bit shorter, some are a bit longer.

I think the timelines have sped up. I was referred to the registry in Feb 2012, and have my pre-surgery class in Sept and I meet Dr. Mumuzza in September. I was told surgery could be before Christmas. So that would be around 10 months.
