Surgery cancelled at the last minute!!

 This can't be happening! I can't believe it!! We were
Getting ready to go to hospital, I had somebody already
Set to pick up the kids from school, my mom had 
Just come from overseas to stay with us and help me
Out and just 5 minutes before leaving Dr's Gmora
Secretary called to cancelled because he had an 
Emergency.....I don't know what to think?? I thought 
They were going to re-schedule for any time soon, but
My surprise was when they (at the hospital) told me to
Eat regular food!!!!! After all the starving all these days, 
Now I can eat regular food!! That makes me think the 
Surgery won't be any time soon :(  I'm soo disappointed
Soo upset :( 

WOw that is aweful. All the arrangements then this. I hope they re-schedule soon. They person who called may not have know what 'regular food' meant and should have said optifast. Hang in there.

Call the centre, tell them your Mom came from Italy especially for this, and ask them for the earliest possible replacement date.

Stay calm.

They have your best interests at heart. They'll try to get you in ASAP.

And remember that poor person whose emergency it was - I betcha they're grategul Dr. Gmora was there to help them. God forbid it was one of us WSL people ...

I'm so sorry for this disappointment! I'm sure they will get you in quick.

OMG, I'm so sorry for you!  Hopefully this will be rectified soon!  I don't blame you for being disappointed and upset, but things seem to happen for a reason!

I would definitely call back and see what they are going to do!
Maybe there's another surgeon that can take his place...
I would also call the dietician and she what she says to do, now that you've had the opti fast. She may suggest to have broth, tea, coffee and probably some chicken...
I hope it all gets worked out in a timely manner!

like everyone else said I would not eat regular food until you hear that from your center... call them and tell them that your parents are in from out of the country to help you with everything and see if they can get you into the next possible surgery....
