stomach ulcer
I am almost 6 months post surgery and starting to experience a lot of stomach pain (almost feels like excessive gas pain)...I have my f/up @ TWH in 2 weeks and will certainly discuss this with them but just wondering if this may be signs of a ulcer ????
Has any developed an ulcer post surgery?
If so, what are the signs?
Thanks
I might also add......this only started in the last 2 weeks since coming home from Cuba.....

I don't have an ulcer but I do have a lot of issues with stomach pain, gas and extreme bloating.
I am very Lactose Intolerant now and this is part of the cause of my pain.
Lactose Intolerance after Gastric Bypass is fairly common.

Actually, at 6 months out I did develop gall bladder stones because of the rapid weight loss. It is a common side effect from WLS. The pain was excrutiating. I removed my gall bladder in December, however, I 'm still experience what feels like the gall bladder attacks. I've gone to a gastrointestinal specialist and he thinks there may be a stone that escaped from the gall bladder into my bile ducts of my liver which is why I'm still experiencing the pain. They are scheduling an MRI to confirm.
It's good that you're getting checked out, I'm sure the experts will find the answer. No worries.

If you are in a lot of pain and/or the pain is getting worse you might want to think about going to a ER where there is a bariatric doctor on call and getting it checked out before your appt in a couple of weeks. Better safe than sorry....
Sometimes the best support you can get isn't all purple puddles and pink rainbows.
Sorry to hear you are having pain. I have been having pain sort of upper epigastric and have been on Prevacid for the last 3 months. It was a stabbing burning pain. I would give them a call to see if tey can give you something. The NP told me that after 3 months if still had the pain off prevacid they would do a scope. (booked for one in June)
