help im hungry
I have had "head hunger" since the beginning of my journey. Most of the "hunger" has to do with that with your brain. "Phantom" hunger it's also called, and it's compared to someone losing a limb, but still feeling it there. We have "lost" lets say, our stomach, and something triggers in our brain to make us believe that we are hungry, hence the "hunger pains". Your mind is a powerful tool. Just like anything else, you need to just do something else to change your mind. Good Luck. Wish I could say it goes away, but unfortunately, for some, not for all, it stays with us. I've just learnt to live with it and IGNORE it!! LOL
This doesn't have anything to do with head hunger not at this stage...there are several good suggesitons provided.
I am 3 years post-op and the last 6 months have been the most difficult..I am much the same as you protein in my coffee at 8:00 a.m. then I have a protein bar at 10:00 and I am LUCKY if I am not starving by 1:00 (which is my lunch hour).
I also notice that I have to keep a rein on my hunger after dinner...and that I could probably stuff more into my mouth than I did before..again it's all about being aware of what goes in your body and controlling it.
It does become more difficult and that is where good habits will help.
