Wedding ring - to wear or not to wear???

Hi everyone!  Happy March Break :)

I just wanted to get some opinions on my situation with my wedding/engagement rings.  My rings are too loose and have gone from irriating to dangerous (I'm going to lose them).  I still have over 40 lbs to lose so it doesn't make sense for me to have them resized just yet.  I was talking to my husband about this the other day and he suggested that I just don't wear them until I can have them resized.  Sounds simple, right?  I have 2 reasons for not wanting to do that.  Firstly, my wedding/engagement rings are symbolic and I'm very proud to wear them.  There was a time in my life when I thought that I would never find a man that would love me the way I "was" and it's so wonderful that I did.  Secondly, my rings are a buffer against the male attention I have been getting lately.  They don't always repel the way I want them to but they definitely help.  I am thinking about buying a phony, cheap, cubic zirconia set off of ebay to use until I get my rings sized.  How did you handle it?  Did you just stop wearing them or did you use a stand-in until you could get your own rings sized.  I have tried the little plastic doo-hickeys that you put on them to make them smaller but they were just so uncomfortable and didn't fit on my wedding band.

Thanks for any and all input guys!  Have a wonderful Monday! HUGS! :)

My wedding ring is getting loose as well, and will soon be too loose but too early to have it professionally re-sized. I may buy a cheap wedding band at Walmart or Cash Converters to wear for those last six months or so before my actual ring is ready to be resized.

You can get fake or costume jewelry everywhere these days.  Walmart carries a bunch as do places like Ardene and Claire's.  I'd just get a band that looks like a wedding band and not bother with the fake diamond.  Men get the drift the minute there is any ring on that finger.

Probably will cost about the same to have them resized twice as it will to get a cheap filler for 6 months  and then resize.

I would resize twice.

I haven't worn my ring in many months as it is too big. The plan is to get it resized.

Honestly, I am enjoying the attention I am getting from men. I never had it before. I am very happily married and I tell my husband when I get attention. It makes me feel good.
I think it's o.k., part of enjoying the new me.

My rings became too small as I gained weight. i haven't worn them for 30 yrs. So long as you take the flirting but not seriously it is fine.

I hadn't been wearing my rings for quite a long time, due to my weight gain, and a whole raft of other reasons.

Since they are such a powerful symbol to you, and yes, they may work to repel male attention (tho, you're such a ******y mama i can't see that working all that great) If i were you, yeah, get a honking big ass zirconia from walmart or something that says BAM!!! Back off jerkwad, i'm TAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

and... maybe, just cuz i'm such a romantic sap, have your hubby place the rings on your finger, just like he did those many years ago, and look into his schmexy eyes and he can say "I wanted you then, i want you now, i love you, and i'd marry you all over again"

or some such thing.

Maybe just throw them on a gold chain and wear them around your neck.  I'm sure they would still be shiney enough to deter any on lookers lol
