I was going to take a break as I wasnt feeling good But I didn't stress to hubby how bad I felt and he wanted to get one more piece of furniture moved.  It was a bit of a communication error of sorts and I would have taken a break I think had I been home alone.

Do you exercise regularly? I'm new to RH and it's messing up my head for a few reasons. I actually like working out at the gym, but find if my sugars are under 4.8 (after eating) I can't workout because they aren't high enough. When I tried they plummeted to 2.8 after 20 minutes of a spin class.

And...this eating every two hours....does not get the last TWO pounds of my body. grrrr. I just wanna hit goal!! LOL

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

Yes.  I am usually fairly good with this even with doing the half marathons.  Just make sure you have what you need to counteract your lows.   A protein/carb mix snack is usually pretty good, glucose tabs or g2.  All depends what works for you!

This is a late reply here. So can I ask what you normally eat before a marathon? And your timing? I wanted to do spinning the other day, and I tested at 4.3 (half an hour after eating cheese and crackers.....annoying). I ate half a banana with peanut butter and did the class. Tested at 4.8 after, so I think that's pretty good. At what level do you test and know for sure that you have to wait to exercise?

I walk a half marathon. I don't eat anything different generally. Just make sure that I have a ton of protein and not a lot of carbs immediately before. Then I make sure to bring stuff with me like protein bars and have a piece here and there just to sustain levels. I just make sure to fuel my body to avoid a low and to always have something on me generally.

Thanks Dawn! If you could, would you run it? Or does your RH limit you?

Thanks so much for posting this Dawn, and "Dawn's DH".  My Dr is just starting into investigating this issue, and I had no idea that this kind of speedy crisis could happen ; but, fore-warned is fore-armed !  Believe me, this is now one instance where I defintitely won't wait to bring my husband onside until I feel I know all the answers myself, haha!

And as an aside, thanks to you and your support group for posting the Black Bean Brownie receipe.  I tried it yesterday (my first "from scratch" brownies in decades) and thought they were great - PLUS they are gluten free which means my daughter can eat them too.  A double win.

Take care, and hope you enjoy your new floors!
