Gallbladder

Well it looks like my gallbladder issue is a bit worse than I thought!  I went to see my Surgeon today. (dr. Hagen) and he pretty much said it has to come out. He scheduled me to have it removed Friday feb 3rd. Which is in two weeks. Just as I was wrapping my head around that and trying to figure out work and kids... They called me back and moved it to this Monday! Oh boy lol.  I know it's going to be a walk in the park compared to the Gastic Bypass but I still hate being put under!  Wish me luck!

Wishing you luck as requested!  It'll be worth it to relieve the pain.  I do believe that gallstones are  common as a result of rapid weight loss, so we should all be watching out for it.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

Wow Amy that is super fast. Just to let you know that Gallbladder recovery for me was one of the easiest recoveries I have ever had. You will feel so much better once it is gone.

I had my gallbladder out in July and at the same time had a small hernia repaired.  It was all done laporascopically.  I had it done on a Friday, took another 3 days off work (Mon thru Wed) and then went back Thurs and Fri for half days.  I have a desk job, so I probably could have gone back to regular hours but was able to take the time so chose to take advantage of that.  I was stiff but nothing that I couldn't handle.  I drive a standard and I didn't find the clutching and shifting to be difficult at all.  Overall it was pretty quick.

Good luck!  But it will be a walk in the park.  In 2008 I had mine taken out at 4:30 on a Thursday, and they almost sent me home on Friday, but because of my size, they kept me until Saturday morning.  By that night I was taking care of my 2.5 month old son and his big brother.  But no more pain!
