just a quick update..... I have decided since i cannot have cream in my coffee I will no loger drink it... I have moved to decaf tea.  Alright well I feel great and have been doing well, no real issues I am at the puree stage and well to tell you the truth have kinda been moving closer to the minced.... the idea of baby food dinner is just not me.  But on a positive note I went swimming last night with my kids and mom...... talk about a NSV for my mom she walked all the way to the pool then proceeded to do water walking for an hour. I enjoyed playing with my kids and swimming around note this is not a NSV for me did this tons presurgery too, but was fun just the same.  I am a bit sore though seeing I am only just entering week 5 post op and tired today but life is good.  I see the kinesioligist at my centre tomorrow to talk about a fitness assessment and planning some fitness goals.  So seeing I don't have a scale at home I will hopefully jump on it there to see where I am at.  The good thing about no scale is i don't get hung up on it and just follow the rules and let my body do the rest.  I am also researching gym options in the city and haven't made a decision yet on what gym I would like so will do some shopping around.  I also wanted to share a great quote

Life isn't about finding yourself.
Life is about CREATING YOURSELF

Why can't you have cream in your coffee? It's actually higher in protein than milk is.

Good for you!!!!! Your NSVs are wonderful. And i like your attitude about the scale. The quote is perfect.

Sounds like you're doing really well, Robin.  I sure wish I could have coffee - I just don't care for the taste of it anymore.  I tried it with milk and cream, and it's just a no go for me.  If you're only having a cup of coffee with some cream (not a half cup!), it really shouldn't be an issue - it's only a tablespoon or two, and if that's your preference, it won't cause you any harm.  I think the centre is more concerned with the fat content, and we have to have some small luxuries, don't we!  Glad to hear your mom is doing well, too.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

Congrats on all your success so far. I am only a couple of weeks behind you and reading upbeat positive posts like yours are an inspiration. Still in the fluid stage, and I have to tell you a pureed supper is sounding pretty good right now! I am actually excited I get to graduate to oatmeal tomorrow.
