i think the blood work so early was in part because i had some issues post op because of low o2 levels and racing heart ....... not that i felt it but the machines were telling the staff lol, see the nurse again in 4 weeks hopefully i will get tho okay to resume normal activities, lifting, sliding skating etc.

Congratulations Robin, that sounds like excellent progress to me!!!
And thanks for mentioning that bit about pushing the limits of the food stages... i dont want a stricture... i think i will just stick to the timeline the suggest.

remember that is not to say that a stricture can;t just happen either as there some who follow the rules to a t and it still happens just one of those risks of surgery but if we can lower the odds why not

you are doing great,  I am one week ahead of you and no way can eat 1000 calories.  I get between 5-600 per day from protein drinks,

Really good progress, Robin.  Congratulations!  I wasn't getting anywhere near 1000 calories at 3 weeks out - I was probably doing really well if I went over 500.  But that will change as you move along.  Good job on the protein as well.

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

Great news! It is hard to get in the cal. Even at almost 3 months still stuggle to get near 1000 cal. If I dont take protein no where near it.

Keep up the great work.

Hi Robin,

What amazing progress. I am so happy for you.

Which nut did you see? Kelly? I don't understand how you could possibly get anywhere near 1000 calories a day at this stage. Are you still on full fluids or have you moved to purees? I'm thinking it takes at least 6 months to get to the 1000 cal stage but maybe I'm being overly optimistic.

Anyway... congrats on the great progress so far.
