Honeymoon phase over ....my vent....

Hi Lynette

Yesterday was a disaster for me too - 1st serious binge in 12 months!  Where did it come from?  Maybe the post Christmas blues and a build-up after being soooo strong over the holidays, I don't know .... but, I am disappointed in myself ,and scared.

From someone who is 11 months post-op I'd say that the comments above are really on point and valuable, and when you're feeling stronger please do try to reread this advice with a clean and open mind.

This is a wonderful, but challenging, process.  The "head" part is the hardest in my opinion, and I haven't got it licked yet - obviously!  But I'm down 175lbs, and it was one day. The eating does get MUCH EASIER - for me at about 6 months - and then the problem changes to the one I'm dealing with - making the health choices and sticking by the rules.

Hang in there.  It's great that you recognize your issues and are trying to find alternate ways of managing.  THAT IS SUCH AN IMPORTANT STEP!  Good luck to both of us, and focus on your accomplishments.  And vent when you need to - hahaha!

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.....

Just as an FYI....I did not eat any junk food over Christmas nor any since my surgery....
And re: the pasta - I had 3 pieces of pasta - the rest was just the meat sauce....

I agree that perhaps I was in a state of hormonal unbalance over the last few days.....feeling more positive today....

I have reached my goal weight ..... and LOVE my RNY !!!!!!!!!
