OMG, I am freezing!!!

All last winter my husband marvelled at the fact that I rarely wore socks, slept without a blanket and only wore sweaters outdoors.  Tonight I am sitting here curled up with a sweater, a shawl, fuzzy socks and slippers, drinking a hot cup of tea.  Oh yes, I'm sexy!  LOL  I just put another blanket on the bed and have my electric blanket that I sleep on cranked up to the highest temperature possible.  Is it the weight loss or am I getting OLD???  LOL

Stay warm everyone.

You're losing all your insulation.

Sorry.

Welcome to coldness for the rest of your life. Hee :)

I haven't had the cold settle in me yet, but I keep hearing about how it will.  My hands and feet are always cold (family trait) but aside from that, I can break a sweat vacuuming.  BUT, I do put on the electric blanket at night.  Always have, always will.

Enjoy the tea!

LOL! Dawn so true. I think I've been freezing since September. It's so weird I used to hate summer and now I'm like, "bring on August"!  Cold is the new reality.

Nope...not getting old.  I seem to have misplaced 113 pounds of insulation that I was wearing last year and I have gone from being a walking furnace to being a fridge.  Socks are on, jacket is done up, pets are being bribed to snuggle with me with too many treats and I seem to buy  new sweater every day or so.

The only thing that could get me to shift from my comfy spot on the couch with my blanky is the pain in my bony butt coming from my newly-naked tailbone!  Is it wrong to pray for menopause, just to get a hot flash?

I'm also going through the changes of life i like to call mental-pause bc that's how i feel when i get over heated then freeze, no wonder I've had 3 colds since Feb.

I was the same way. Only reason for not wearing shorts outside in the winter was because I would look silly. LOL Just joking, but I'm having the same issues you are, I'm cold very frequently. I've had to buy thicker socks, with slippers and layer up my tops. I look at like I used to complain of being hot all the time and there was only so many layers a person can take off, so I'd much rather be cold and have the option of putting on sweaters. Only down side is my sweaters are massive on me now and I have to roll up the sleeves! Still I'll take it!

I can totally relate to freezing - I used to keep my house quite cool in the winter and now I'l in socks and fleece all the time - just too cold!

I'm glad this came up.  I, too, am freezing.  I sit in front of the heater at work and shiver - I just can't get warm.  I've had people tell me it's the loss of the insulating fat, but I didn't believe that.  I guess I'm believing it now!

Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora.  Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

I first started feeling the cold when I was on Opti-fast, but I don't know if the difference was due to that, or the fact that I stopped taking one of the meds I've been on for over a decade at the same time.  It was spironolactone, I took it for my pcos, and stopped taking it with my GP's knowledge.

I don't really care what's caused it, I'm loving the change.  No more constant sweating, no more wanting to just wear a tank, even in freezing weather.  No more flushing so bad it feels like a sunburn.

I'm just hoping it lasts.
