Need some advice

Also, your shape will change so it's really hard to tell what will fit properly and look good on you if you can't try it on.  I discovered (what a nice surprise) that tailored shirts look really good on me now; couldn't wear them 80 lbs ago!  VV is a great short-term solution.

Right, body shape changes especially if you factor in weight training. So yes I will wait. I also have a closet full of clothes that never fit. I had an aversion to dressing rooms so bought lots of clothes hat never fit but never took back. ( anybody else do that?) so I will wait. Thank you all for your advice. Shop for accessories and handbags this year.

I bought clothes as I have gone along. I can't pass up designer pants for $9, and then pay $6-8 at Value Village for old out-dated clothes.  I am glad that I spent some money all the way through.  It has been exciting seeing the progress and 'getting into' clothes as you go. One week I could wear one of the shirts that I had bought- two weeks later, it fit great!  Plus, all of my larger clothes I am planning to either give away to my sister, or sell at a garage sale in the spring.  You make good money off of clothes. In my line of work, I need to dress professionally, so for me, even though I haven't yet made my goal weight, I will be looking and buying some of the clearance priced items on Black Friday!

Diana,

I too have a closet full of clothes that still have the tags on it ... mostly pants sized 28-24.  14 pair in total that I bought on sale at Additionelle but couldn't fit into because I was a 28/30.  I completely passed 28/24 and some 22's while I was recovering and never got a chance to wear them.  I added up the cost, and it was over 800 bucks.

Luckily, I kept the clothes that I had from when I lost weight in 2003-2005, so I go shopping a lot in my extra closets and the bags in my mom's basement where I keep them - I am SO thankful I didn't throw them out, because a lot of them are really nice clothes.  However, I also go to Talize in Hamilton.  I've picked up a few shirts for going out in and a really nice winter coat.

I have been buying some shirts from Old Navy, because they are really cheap ($9-$12) right now.  I unfortunately have had to buy new sets of scrubs and have have then altered a few times which can be expensive.

I would NOT even walk into a Penningtons or Additionelle and spend money - the clothes are SO expensive there.

I have some cute outfits I bought last year and the year before when I was state side. When I get into them and may even be too big might have them altered. However will see when I get there. When I go for my endoscopy two weeks from today should I go straight to the desk and ask Krista for my surgeon date? This is the last test I think. Thanks for your thoughts Tammy!

Is there a local support group in your area? If so they might have a clothing exchange.
I also like consignment shops.
Underwear is something easy to buy.
Pj's too.

And if you know for sure that you will be exercising, and the deal is good, perhaps some clothes for that.
Like someone else said, will you like the clothes later on?
