Had my surgeryon the 14th....
When I arrived @ TWH I was advised that the surgery would be completed by Dr. Urbach (not Dr. Jackson as previously thought). Everything went smooth sailing but I feel like my stomach has been rolled over by a two ton truck. I'm very very tiredand sleeping lots.

The good part of this all........surgery is over and I'm home.
My hubby is taking the week off to take care of me (bless his sweet little heart) and is being a great nurse

I have reached my goal weight ..... and LOVE my RNY !!!!!!!!!

NEWS FLASH: You have been run over by a two ton truck. That is why you need the pain meds, fluids and rest.

Judy - I'm thinking of sending hubby to the store to buy a nurses outfit.......although we might need to keep that for later...........knowing him ........he might come home with a sexy nurses outfit for me instead

Glad to hear that all went well. Same thing happened to me. I had Urbach too instead of Jackson. did you get to meet him? I didn't. How is you left side. Mine feels like a stich pulled too tight. I have sort of a lump on the left side above one of the port sites. Been the same since surgery. Around day 5 started to feel better and dont get stuck in bed.
My piece of advice dont let the bowel go too long. For me today is post op day 6 and finally have success.

Hi Leslie - I got to meet Dr. Urbach on the day of the surgery. My stitches (right now) feel fine, just really really tight inside. My left side (shoulder/chest) area was so friggin painful after the surgery - I knew it was all the gas but OMG........

I'm still sleeping lots but inbetween naps trying to stay up longer, trying to walk up and down the stairs a few times through the day and walked to the postbox today to get my mail.

I got a perscription for a stool softener so I guess I will start that tonight - was hoping mother nature but I hear ya, don't want that going on for too long......

Keep me updated on your progress - it's always good to know how other's are doing, especially when you are just a few days ahead of me in your surgery date..........
