I hope the bleeding gets fixed up soon and you are on your way to a full recovery.    Glad to hear that they caught this right away and are monitoring you closely.  The nude superman run in the halls may not get you evicted from the hospital any sooner, but it may get you a fan club on the ward... lol .... those nurses must get bored on their shifts sometimes.
Keep up the good spirits!

Hey superman, I hope that they set you free soon, with or without the nude dash. Although like all the rest if it happens I hope there are pictures. lol

There truly is no better place than home to recover. I wish you much success on your journey and I'm looking forward to all your wows and NSV's.

Hi Jonathin, what do they do to treat the internal bleeding? The worst is over; happy that the plan is that you will be home for Thanksgiving.

Hopefully you're thru the worst of it now. Don't worry about being moved to another ward; D6 is the busiest floor in the place and they've got no room at the inn. Take care Jonathin and maybe you could do your superman run at then next WLS group meeting. I'll bring a hospital gown just in case.

Thanks guys! I was released yesterday much to my delight. I spent Friday night on the "floor" of the Civic since they had to make room in trauma for the new batch of bariatric patients. Suffice to say, I didn't get much sleep.

I thought everything was over and the bleeding had stopped, but it seems it's returned or still coming back to say hello. If it's still occurring, I'll be returning to the Civic on Tuesday when things are open again.

Health wise, I'm not feeling the greatest. Constant nausea is the main culprit. It's hard to even ge****er in to keep hydrated.

Hi Jonathin, what do they do to treat the internal bleeding?

Well, they generally wait to see if it heals on it's own first. If the patient loses too much blood, they will do blood transfusions (Per Civic).

If the patient doesn't respond well to the transfusions or the bleeding doesn't stop, then surgical intervention. (Per Google).

I lost a bit of blood the first day after surgery, but it's not as consistent now. So I'm hoping that it'll self-correct to avoid the additional steps. I've been trying to add some additional iron (bananas in the shakes, apple juice with beneprotein) to keep hemoglobin levels up, but unsure if it'll really help. At least it helps me cope with the "wait and see".

Oh... I didn't pull the nude Superman, noone came with cameras... so maybe next time!!!

In hind(hehe)sight, I should have, that night on the normal floor was sort of rough. Bless the poor man in the bed next to me, for he was having some issues of his own, but when he snored, it was a cross between a reverse hiccup and a retch.  As a light sleeper with severe nausea, it made me want to vomit all night. And the buzzers, oh god the buzzers.

I think the Superman stunt may have ended up becoming the result of real mania and not just an innocent prank.. haha

Jonathan,

"Sleeping" in the hall is THE WORST! That happend to me when I was in emerg for twisted bowels a few years back. Great to hear you are home but I'm sorry to hear you are having some issues post-op. Hope they resolve for you quickly and the nausea passes. It's tough when it's a challenge getting fluids in, just don't get dyhydrated, that will make you feel a whole lot worse.

Keep us updated on the bleeding and your progress ok. And if you do go back to the civic I am just down the street if you want visitors.
