OK Karen, I'm guilted into posting
Very enjoyable read, John. I can relate to many of the issues you mention and can only hope that I get to the other side of them as successfully as you have.
Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.
Great to see you posting John!
I remember, about a year ago - posting a "I almost feel guilty that this is so EASY" post. Very similar to you.
At about your stage - I could eat ANYTHING I wanted without repercussions. I won't say that goes away - I still mostly eat anything I want. Like you, following the rules 80-90% of the time...but if I want it, I have it. I DO have a bit more room these days though...so I do try to stay mindful of those choices and recognize that they shouldn't be every day (which they could easily become). Sometimes that means making a decision - do I WANT those chips today, or would I rather eat right and save my "YUMM" for tomorrow's staff party?" That kind of thing. I can't take a total free ride.
But it does make me feel guilty when I see others struggle to get to goal and/or maintain.

Congratulations on your successful journey.
In my opinion you have nothing to feel guilty about; it's more like you and Erica have won the wls lottery. Life isn't always fair and we all just have to play the hand we are dealt.
Good to hear that we will be hearing more from you in the days to come. (Just one more thing we can thank Karen for! lol)

Hi John
Nice to see you posting. I especiall smiled when I read this part I no longer pile things at the bottom of the stairs.. planning the next climb that will maximize the job and the exersion it required. I no longer "wait" until someone else is up and headed to the kitchen before asking them to please fetch me a drink or a snack!.
I did that all the time LOL. I would work on files at work and leave a pile to the end of the week and then wheel them on a chair to the filing cabinets down the hall and put them away. Now I am running all around the office looking for stuff all the time.
Glad you are doing so well
Keep up the good work
