Hi everyone, Just wondering if any of you post-ops have undergone the arm lifts to remove excess skin from your upper arms and or tummy tucks? And if so what is the approximte cost so I can start saving towards this expense.
Thanks so much

This Toronto surgeon posts his prices on his website.  I presume they approximate what other surgeons charge, give or take a few hundred or thousand ....In any case, gives you a ballpark idea of how much to save for plastics if you are having it done in Ontario.

I heard somewhere that to have it done at a hospital is cheaper than going through a private practice Dr. Any truth to that?

I asked the same question recently.  EricaFG said her costs were approx. $5500, with OHIP covering the panni part.  For that to happen, I believe you have to have an apron of skin hanging below your pelvis and/or documented proof of rashes, sores, etc. from skin breakdown.

OHIP covers this 2 years after surgery, IIRC.

OHIP will sometimes cover the Panniculectomy but not always.
There is no time frame for OHIP coverage.

Depends where you live and every surgeon is different. To ball park it though each area of the body will run about $7000. Some charge more, some charge less. Sometimes you can combine procedures to save a little too. I would be hesitant to have any major procedure done outside of the hospital.
I had a full fleur de lis tummy tuck done in Oct 2009. I had a breast reduction (paid by OHIP) and arms done in May 2010.

Hi Cheryl,
I have an appointment with a Dr. in Burlington for a consultation about an arm lift.  They have quoted me a price of about $5500.00

My arms were about $1800.00.  The doc gave me a good deal because I was getting TT, Breast Lift and brachiplasty.

One thing about the arm lifts.  I have talked to quite a few people who weren't happy post op.  I had a lot of keloid scaring, and it was more difficult to wear short sleeves post of.  Some people don't like the placement of the scars, some have right under their arms, where others have it just under their bicep area.

I am hoping that OHIP will cover a revisions to remove the scarring, but that won't happen for a long time.

Good luck and keep us up to date.
