Sometimes we have to learn the hard way. I am sure that is a mistake you won't make again for a very long time. Chin up, today is a new day.

Consider it a valuable lesson learned.

Hope your son had a good birthday!! Next year he will be celebrating with 'Healthier Mom'.

For the record, I eat takeout Chinese food.  I order broccoli and beef and feel very happy with that.  I have also had some almond gui ding (?sp) and was great with that as well. 

Avoid the rice and anything breaded or with sweet sauces and you should be fine.

I have also had the Tim Horton's "chicken snack wrapper" with bbq sauce and ate about half in one sitting.

This surgery is about being stopped in your tracks and learning a new way of looking at your relationship with food (and being strongly reminded when we forget).  We have all had moments when we forget.  Next time you will remember that it doesn't have to be all or nothing.
