I've heard there is one, but don't know anything about it. I'd love to attend even now, while I'm still waiting to hear about my orientation class. Does anyone know if the group is open to people that are still waiting for their orientation session?
Can you drop in, or do you have to call ahead to confirm you are coming? Who do you call?

Meeting held the 3rd Wed of every month Rm 103 6th floor, Fell Pavillion (south elevators)
It is for pre and post op. They are supposed to have Psychiatrist, Dietician and SW.
Just looked at my papers but don't know the time.

Although I've honestly never been to a support group, my understanding is that they are open to everyone including people even thinking about surgery. Everyone learns from everyone and an exchange of ideas is what its all about!

I've been attending it since before I even had my orientation. They are a welcoming bunch! It is run by the SW Jairo and one of the dieticians and sometimes a psych is there as well. It is every third Wednesday from 7-8:30, floor 6 room 103 (same room as where the orientations are done). Jairo really likes to start right on time, so I usually try to get there by 6:50-6:55.
This is so funny. I originally responded to pinkjellybean's post, not realizing it was almost a year old! Then it hit me - wait a minute, she's had her surgery already!
Anyhow, I'm planning to go to my first TWH support group meeting in March, looking forward to it.
