16 Days post OP
Hello!
Just wanted to give an update on my progress.
Well let's start off by saying that I feel wonderful and have more energy everyday. I've been walking and gardening(try to keep it lite) for 30 min each day. My gardens are getting extra attention this spring. It so helps when your mother is living with you temporarily!
I have finished full fluids which went well. I ate alot of soup with protein powder, cottage cheese, apple sauce, Greek yogurt and a
Ostmeal. I'm happy to begin the purée stage. I usually just blend up what ever I make my family. I started with chicken, then fish, and ground beef. I always have some veggies with the meat to help with keeping tge mixture moist. I was getting sick of oatmeal for breakfast so I tried a boiled egg. IT WAS DELICIOUS!!!
So I figured today I would try scrambled eggs for breakfast. Well my pouch hated them!! I was shocked at how terrible I felt after eating 3 little spoonfuls!
This is the first time I have felt this way. I didn't throw up but felt really uncomfortable in my chest. So I won't be trying that for a while.
I haven't had any protein drinks for 2 days and seem to be getting enough protein in.
I will reccomend to introduce new foods one at a time to see if your pouch likes it or not. I did have some homemade hummus I made for my family, with a Melba toast. I was a little paranoid about chewing it enough but all was good! I also love laughing cow lite cheese. It's funny because I never used to like them.
I weighted myself this morning and I'm down 30lbs!!! From my surgeons meeting in march .Since the first day of optifast I'm down 25 pounds!!
I have not needed pain meds since day 3 after surgery, and have regular BM. thank god
So people are starting to notice my weight loss, which is nice. I'm
working very hard at this but it's not as hard as I thought. I do get
hungry and have a few cravings(like salad!!) And meat until I
started eating them this week.
I have not for one day regretted my decision to hAve this surgery. P
I will say to take your time to heal. I usually have a nap in the afternoon everyday! I am taking 4-5 weeks off before I return to my busy job as a hygienist. I want go make sure I have adapted well with my daily food plan and vitamin regime. Oh don't forget to write down everything eat you and whether it agreed with your pouch. I have my follow up 1 mnth appt with the nut/ surgeon on the 6th of June and want to be prepared.
I did clean out my closet yesterday in my spare time ! Haha and tried on a few size 16-18 pants and it won't be long I'll be wearing those babies! I live in yoga pants so I wasn't sure what would fit.
So good luck to all those waiting for surgery and to those who are on the bench enjoying your new way of life!
Well I'm off to go play in the garden on this beautiful sunny day!

Amen to everything you said.
I'm further out than you, but started at the same weight on April 4.
I went from a very loose size 24 to a slightly tight size 16 now.
"Ony" 41 pounds so far - but as everyone keeps telling us "stop spazzing about the scales, they'll move. Just keep diarizing and drinking water and walking, and it'll come off."
I didn't have a lot of trouble with BM until I went from purees to soft solids - that's been the hardest transition so far.
My pouch is very very picky, i am finding.
Congratulations to you, I love how you're grabbing this experience by the hahas and really going for it.
