1 Week post op....
Hello Everybody!
Just wanted to say hi and let everyone know how I'm doing. I had my surgery last Wednesday and come home yesterday from Toronto.
It's so nice to sleep in your own bed and be at home.
I am trying to eat everything they suggest from HRRH but find I just can't seem to do it. I am drinking 3 and 1/2 bottles of water a day which is good and my pouch seems to like everything I've eaten so far. Tonight i tried a little bit of sweet potatoe and it was pretty good. Although I'm still on full fluids.
But my mom made we homemade cream of mushroom soup and it is delisious! I put protein pwder in pretty much everything i eat. My favorite meal is breakfast. I eat hot oatmeal with skim milk, 1/4 cup on milk and some brown sugar splenda( just a tiny bit to add sweetness)!!!Yummy and some greek yogurt with a wee bit of butterscootch pudding. For lunch its usually homemade soup with protein powder and apple sauce
I had vegetable soup pureed for dinner tonight and that went down real well. I'm down 5lbs since my surgery, so I'm please with that. I lost 12 lbs on optifast, which I kinda of liked, i know I'm strange.
I'm a little confused between the difference between smooth cream soups and puree foods in week 3. creamed soups are ok to eat on full fluids. I really miss chewing but know it won't be long for that. I did find that a mix weider mango splash protein powder with 2 cups of water and drink that throughout the day giving me a wooping 20 g of protein. I find its a full time job eating and taking all the vitamins and shots. I have a journal and write down everything.
M 5 little incisions are healing well and the steri strips are still on but not for long. The doctor said I could take them off but I'm alittle reluctant.
I have no pain but did do a little too many errands to day and I'm a litle sore tonight. so moral of the story...don't pu**** I promised my hubby that I would relax more tomorrow. But when you are at home and have 2 small kids, there's lots to do. Fortunately, my mother is living with us for a few more weeks till her house is ready to move into. So its huge having her here. She does most of the cooking, which really helps.
Well I should go to bed....more updates to come.
