What a great day, Osama Bin Laden has been killed by the Americans...ok now bring ALL the troops home...both Canadians and American and any other nations that has been brought into this war.

We would like to see all woman and men come home now

Here, here!!  My eldest is in the army and has served 2 tours in Afghanistan, the last one where he had such a very close call.  At one point, both my sons were in the army, and I have a tattoo on my ankle in their honour and the honour of all our soldiers.  I wear my yellow ribbon pin every day close to my heart.  Perhaps this will open the door to real change and better relations in the middle east.  Perhaps "world peace" really is attainable.  I sure hope so.

I agree bring home the troops AND lower the gas prices  Unfortunately, I think we have an equal chance of either of those things actually happening.

There is nothng that I would like to see more than to have ALL of the troops safely home.
However, I fear that this turn of events will only cause the "powers that be" to keep the military in the area even longer.

I upsets me that so many people are place in peril, not because our national securty is threatened, but because of economic and power-positions being postured by our governments.
At the risk of this turning into a political rant that is inappropriate for a weight loss forum, let me say that I fully support all of the men and women who selflessly serve in our military...I proudly wear red every Friday...but I have a difficult time supporting the decision to keep them in the continued position of senseless danger.

As for the economic impact...I would gladly pay the gas prices if Canada pulled out of this foolish conflict.

It's my hope that the hatred that Osama Bin Laden cultivated died with him....however, I sadly doubt if that will be the case.

I think it is too convenient that they "claim" he is dead, and buried at sea. (after 11 years of searching)Our troops should have been brought back a long time ago and unfortunately, if he really is dead there will be another to take his place.

saddly there is always another waiting in line that think they can do a better job lets just hope we catch them beforethey can do harm.. im glad he was killed best thing ever my only problem on this whole thing is yes USA killed him and my mom and her family are American so no disrespect but instead of just them getting praise for the whole war what about all the nations that came together.. my cousin in the states claimed let it be a national holiday a frien of hers said why we got the body. i was sad because we lost people as well in  trade center and on the planes and specially in combat.. so had other countries. yes they got the body but everyone help try to get him..

hope thiws made sence and i did not sound harsh lol becaue like i said it is no disrespect just want to point out a lot more people were effected  by this

It's wonderful news if it's really true. I want so badly to believe it but I'm suspicious because of what happened to the body. News reports state that it's highly unusual for people of their culture to dispose of a body at sea - it's almost as though they are trying to avoid close scrutiny.  I thought that the American troops would have retained the body after he was declared dead, just to prove that it was really Bin Laden. Supposedly they confirmed his identity through DNA samples, but something still doesn't seem right. I hope that I'm just being overly cynical and that it truly is that monstrous, evil man. I worry too that he'll just be replaced by some of his fanatical followers - I hope that I'm wrong. It would certainly be wonderful to see all of the troops brought home once and for all - no more killing!
