What do you do when your kids wanna go to McDonalds?
I don't have kids but my bf likes to go for lunch sometimes. I also order a "kids meal- chicken nuggets", I eat a few fries and my bf helps me eat them and has my drink. Or I will just order a 6pk of nuggets. Once in a blue moon I have a tiny taste of my bf's burger, but only a tiny bite.
I say anything chicken at these places is a good thing to get

Anything grilled. Even McD's has a grilled chicken wrap. Both Wendy's and McD's have salads, jus****ch out for the dressings - some of those packages of dressing have upward of 250 calories in them. I don't eat in either location much at all, though I do like an occassional Wendy's chili if I'm desperate.

It's a whole special outing when my kids get to go to places like that.
I nearly never take them (and they know better than to ask!) but sometimes we will go to the food court in the mall and I will let them choose whatever they want. There is a wide variety and the youngest ones usually choose Kentucky Fried Chicken but the older ones usually choose something a bit healthier like Subway. I will sometimes have sushi or they have a Greek place that does salads and chicken souvlaki....so everyone is able to get what they want and nobody feels like they had to settle for the lesser evil.

the only thing i would eat a MCD's is salad with low fat dressing.
Their chicken nuggets are deep fried, and the fries are just too tempting.
I've tried fries but only at home baked in the oven. Too tempting for me to look at real McD's fries. I stay away. But i have done the drivethru for a salad on a couple occasions, only because we were travelling. Same goes for Wendys, mostly everything is fried.
Just be careful, those places got me into trouble so I try to avoid them at all costs.

When I take the kiddies to McDonalds, I usually pack myself something small from home. Sometimes, I will even just grab a protein bar. I have gone as far as to bring in food (discretely), from a takeout place with healtier choices. If I don't pack something, then I will usually order 1 chicken fajita from McD's, open it up, and mostly eat the insides. I might have a couple of bites of the tortilla.
We usually don't go in to McDonalds but will usually take it out if we do eat there. so normally I just buy food for everyone else, and then when we get home I eat food from home.
However, if I do end up eating at a fast food place I will usually choose between Wendy's chili or a salad if they have one that I like. Occasionally I will order a burger or grilled chicken sandwich and then eat the meat and innards without the bun.
