What comes next? HRRH
I'm at the HRRH programme.
I first heard about the programme in April 2010. Finally agreed to give it a shot in September.
Had my class in October.
Got sent for the various Rx appointments throughout November December and January.
Cleared for surgery end of January.
Got a date of March 31, which got postponed.
Start my OptiFast March 21
Surgery April 4 2011.
Almost exactly one year from my surgeon first mentioning it, 6 months from my first orientation class.

After the info session, you will get a letter. That letter will tell you the dates and times of 4 different appointments. Gastric Bypass Class, Dietician, Social Worker and 1st meeting with Surgeon.

Here is my timeline for HRRH... hope it puts you at ease a bit.. I got the call the day after the Orientation for my appointments.. and saw my Dr. the day after that! its going really fast now!!!
July 15/10 - Referral from my family doctor
Jan 31/11 - Orientation at Humber River Hospital
Feb 2/11 - Appt with Dr. Hagen (Surgeon)
Feb 9/11 - Sleep Study

It takes a few months. There are a lot of appointments you have to go to like Dollface has mentioned. Also, you have to see the Internist, PATT testing, Nutrition class. Also, you have to go on optifast for 2 or 3 weeks before the surgery. It's expensive too.

Thanks everyone for the information - much helpful! Had my orientation, so I guess I just wait it out now?? Wondering how long this will take ... Some posts seem to think it will move fast, but I'll just have to wait and see. I'll let you all know...
