New bariatric registry in Ontario

Thanks for the info ladies :)  I am aware the process can take up to a year, I guess I'm hopeful its faster!! :)

A close friend had th WLS done in October 2010 at WTH and her referal went out in March of 2010. She has been great at giving me as much information as possible :)

I keep reading bad stuff about the surgery and its scary, I can see why its a long process!

I am having my surgery at Humber (Finch site) and Id say it went pretty fast for me!  I had my orientation on Jan 31.. and they told us it could be up to 6 months before we got our list of appointments.. and then another 6 months before surgery.. but I got my call the next day.. and had my first visit with Dr. Hagen two days later.   I go to see the Dietitian and Social worker in two weeks.. and then I should get my date!  So the whole process has only taken just over two months so far... (although my referral was sent in July from my doctor so that was the longest part of my wait)

I know everyone is different.. but hopeful it goes fast for you !!!

Yes everyone's time line is different...I also, like Megan am being sent to Hamilton thru thunder bay..I was referred to thunder bay assessment center when they first opened in the summer(end of july) I had my orientation in november along with the nurse practitioner, dietitian, and psychologist..that was all on November 1st and 2nd..that also included my blood work and ECG..when I came back home to I had my ultrasound november 25th and my scope done december 29th...I met with the internist Jan 5th to get all my results..they sent all my stuff to Hamilton on feb 4th and I am now waiting on a call to meet the surgeon via tele conference..so it is a bit different for everyone

 I also have to add that if my paper work would have been sent to Hamilton when it was suppose to back in January I would probably would have had a date to meet with the surgeon
