Parking around St. Joe's Hamilton - insane!

OMG, I had to be at an appointment for 11:30 at a building across the street from St. Joe's in Hamilton today. There was no parking to be had anywhere! The lot in the garage next to the Fontbonne building was full and every lot within 3 or 4 blocks was full. I went up and down side streets and still couldn't find a spot. I cruised around for about 15 minutes and extremely luckily I got a parking meter just around the corner from where my appointment was. I lived in Hamilton for many years but it has gotten worse I think since they built the new tower to the hospital. So long story short if you have appointments at St. Joe's go early so you can find a place to park!

i live in Hamilton and have been doing the  parking for all my appts and yes  parking is  very  mad, i always leave 1 hour before my  appts so i can get a parking spot as i need as close to the entrance as  possible so also be prepared  to pay the max $15.00 which is the day rate, even when i picked up my optifast it cost me $ 7.00 for parking i was in for aprox 45 Min's

Sadly, I think it's just the state of hospital parking lots in general everywhere, especially since Winter is the busiest season for them (slip and falls, colds and flus, complications from colds and flus, pneumonia, etc).

St Joe's added an extension building and  took out  the front  parking, there's  parking over on the fontbon building which is  packed  most of the time and the walk to main building is pretty far, then there's  the parking adjacent to the main building but not very  many spaces, street parking (meter) is a pain in the arse, then you have the Charlton building and that's  just crazy , so when ever  going to stJoes it is  best to leave 1 or  more  hours  before your  appt just in case you  need to drive around and round and round ...... and be prepared to spend $ 15.00 buck keep all your receipts as its  tax deductible

I was there for my 9 month appointment 2 weeks ago. and was shocked when I couldn't get into either hospital lot. I'm from Cambridge so didn't have a clue where to park.. I cruised the side streets and found a spot but the tail end of my car was a bit over the edge of somebody's driveway. Luckily I didn't get a ticket when I returned..
I mentioned it to the staff and they said.. its only going to get worse because they are going to be doing work on the parking garage.. yikes!!
