Compression Stockings? Blood Thinners?

I had stockings on during surgery and then after surgery as well. but they took mine off the next day because they wanted me to get up and walk and not rely on the stockings to prevent clotting. i never had to do any shots when i got home though...not sure what everyone is talking about there?

No stockings for me, but yes Heparin. I'm needle-woogie so my husband did them. It didn't hurt at all, and he reported them easy to do.
