I am close to 100 pounds down, I need tattoo ideas

Well as a huge gift to me for losing 100 pounds I want to get another and probably last tattoo.  I have just over 10 pounds to go, so I have time.  I would love suggestions.  i want a tattoo that is about my son, he is the love of my life and I want something.  I have seen many just get the name of their child, but I want something more I guess.  I am lucky to have him, he was a sick sick baby, and after surgery at 1 month old he is a miracle to me:)  So I need ideas people.

I think it will be on my shoulder blade, or in the middle of my back.  I have a large tatoo between my shoulder blades, so under that or the shoulder itself.  Anyway here is his info, he was born on october 29, 2004.  His name is Lucas.  I was thinking of finding a symbol that represents his name or birth month or year just not sure.

So any suggestions you all have would be great.

thanks that is a nice idea, I would like something a little more boyish though, if I had a girl it would have been a butterfly or a lady bug for sure!   I was checking out his zodiac sign, he was born in the year of the monkey.  How cute would a little monkey be;p  not sure I have to keep looking.  Thanks for the idea:)

A friend at work has his son's hand print tattooed along with his name in braille. His little boy was born blind.  It really is a work of art.

I don't have any tattoos, but when I get to 100 lb. lost,  I'm going to get a small tattoo on my right inside wrist with roman numerals.  I can add more numerals if I'm fortunate enough to lose more than that. This way every time I eat I'll be reminded how hard I worked to get there.

I think thats a wonderful idea.... i have always wanted a tattoo and someday will get one.....I have googled the name Lucas....the Greek meaning is 'Man from Lucania'.  (white, luminous light)  There are different interpretations of the name, depending on origin.  I would try and incorporate the meaning of his name with something that relates personally to his personality.  If you have a tat guy who is good at interpretation, he/she should be able to create something totally unique to honor your son.

You could get his astrology sign - he is a Scorpio I think or his astrological glyph - you can look up what design.  I have my astrological glyph on my ankle and no one knows what it means but I do.

I will also bet getting a tattoo for my 100 Lbs loss.  It will be a melting snowman as I just love snowmen and well, my friend and family say I am melting.  Just need to find the right design.

Jill brought up white luminous light, I think whatever you get, having that in the background would be very symbolic of your success as well as Lucas's survival and now thriving.

thanks everyone, I love th idea of light, I just don't know how to encorporate it.  I love the idea of the sign, but don't like the look of his.  I like the tattoo guy I used last time, so think I will go there again.  I appreciate all the help, I want it to be symbolic, but I don't mind cute either.  So hard to deside.

I was watching LA Ink and LOVE that show. Kat Von D is the best. Maybe by my second 100 I'll have saved enough to fly down there and get her to do something. Maybe I should try getting on the waiting list NOW, eh? hehe cuz it'll probably be a year long. HA I wonder if it's longer to wait for her to do a tattoo that it was for the surgery?? hehehe

Do you have a footprint of him as a newborn? You could get that.. or if you trusted someone enough you could get a portrait of him done... but those can be tricky.

Or you could bring him with you to the tattoo place and get the artist to trace his hand on your shoulder blade....
