Topic: Heard from CC today ...
I made phone contact with CC today. My PCP called this morning and has revised my out of network insurance approval to include any necessary testing at CC.  My new patient request has now been forwarded on to the surgical team for review. If all goes well I'll hear back from them within 1-2 weeks.  My anticipation is building in hopes of getting my first appointment at CC.  I'll keep you posted. Kathy

Joanne,

Please let me know when you get the group set up in Solon, or near there.  I live in Mantua and have been looking for a support group close to home without any luck at all and am in need of one desperately.  I would sure appreciate it  :-)

Topic: Checking in
Good morning on this rainy Tuesday.  I still haven't got a response to my post.  A lot of you are viewing but, not responding.  I am NOT here to say "No to surgery". But, what to expect just after surgery, and years to come.

I used to have the website www.imnotfatanymore.com.  I no longer have that site.  Other folks do I noticed yesterday.  I am considering starting a new site. But, it would have a different address of course.

Topic: RE: Anyone know Kim Keys at the Cleveland Clinic?
Hi Veronica,
Thanks for your reply. I had bariatric surgery back in 2007 at another facility. Long story short it did not bring me the resutls I had hoped for. I am trying to get into CC for another opinion. I did get the packet that you spoke of and I returned that back in early September. Then I had an insurnace snafu that I had to get approval to go to an out of network provider. Now I have that. I'm just wondering... if you go to CC does everyone get taken through the introductory session even if you've had RNY prior to coming to their clinic?  Then you get to see the surgeon?  Do you remember how long it took to see the surgeon after the information seminar? What tests does CC require of new patients??? My anticipation of getting to CC is mounting.. I hope it happens soon. Thanks again in advance for any info. you're wlling to share. Kathy

Topic: RE: Dennys Monday Night Meeting
The meeting is at 7:00pm every monday at the Dennys behind Parmatown Mall on Day Drive.  I went last night and it was a very good meeting.  There was a wonderful speaker who has lost 400lbs and everyone at the meeting was very supportive and helpful.  I really got the "charge" I needed as I was falling back into the old patterns.

I'm not sure about Kim Keys but you should be able to call the bariatric department and speak to anyone to send you info. When you contact them the first time and tell them you are interested intheir program they will snet you a big packet of information inclusing a long questionnaire regarding you medical history.  Once you fill that out it takes a couple of weeks for them to review it to see if you even qualify for surgery. If you meet the criteria they will then set you up with a date to come to an information seminar. The seminar takes a couple of hours. They will give you another binder of information regarding the different surgeries and everything you can expect. After this seminar they set you up to see a surgeon and have any other labs, tests, etc. that you will need. That's the begining. If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I had surgery at The Clinic in March of 2008 so I know the ropes. Hope this helps.

Topic: RE: Tightened stomach skin
I tried everything for 3 years then succumbed to a tummy tuck last January and have absolutely no regrets, u can excerise to help with the muscles but I really don't think there's hope to tightening the skin especially after a huge weight loss. I had my muscles tightened also and feel and look great.
