Topic: RE: NEW YEAR - NEW SUPPORT GROUP!!
Hi...Was just wanting to stop in and wish you good luck with your new support group...My friend Marlene and I started our group called * Little by Little* about 1 1/2 years ago...We have about 10-12 active members...Marlenes church allows us to meet once a month in the basement of her church...They are very kind and don't charge us anything...We have total access to their kitchen which works out great for food demonstrations and occasional parties...We have 2 local papers that will allow us to advertise our group for free beings we are non profit...I am from Greenville, Ohio...Thats great of you to want to start this group, and to help others that are in need of support...Again, good luck !!!!

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only TRUE FRIENDS will leave footprints in your heart...And may that friendship have such a ONENESS that when one weeps the other will taste salt...Friends are like balloons ; once you let them go you can't get them back....So I'm going to tie you to my heart so I never lose you.

Hey Martinoa, thanks for the support. Kaiser claims the reason they make you go through hoops for 6 months+ is b/c they want to make sure that their candidates for WLS are fully prepared for it, and that they'll have a better chance of keeping the weight off more than a few years.  .

Topic: RE: I need to get back on track!!!
Im also 2 years out since my RNY and have also put on 16lbs.  What is it with that number 16.  I went to my nutritioninst a few weeks ago and she told me it is expected to gain around this number after the surgery.  It is our bodies way of telling us we are FINALLY getting back to normal.  NORMAL?!?!?!  HOW IS THIS NORMAL?!?!? I wasnt exactly thrilled to hear this so now I am obsessed with every little morsel I put in my mouth and have realized I am starting to resort back to old eating habits pre surgery.  So now I pay attention to what I eat and have kicked up my cardio at the gym and have set a goal of wanting to run/walk a 5 k in may, hoping this will give some incentive to loose these 16 lbs.  the sad thing was I sadly went last night to walmart to buy a new pair of jeans to wear to a holiday party because my other jeans that are in my closet are now too tight and push up my extra skin............oh so sad.  I started to cry in the dressing room because I had to go up a size............not good............even more incentive to loose the weight.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone found any GOOD TASTING, AND HIGH PROTEIN, shake replacements since slimfast was recalled.  Im 2 years out and still depend on these for when I am not getting enough protein.  I miss my slimfast shakes!!!!  Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hi Anita,
My name is Angel and I also live int he Cleveland area.  I do not have the Kaiser insurance because I work for the Cleveland Clinic.  I do know kaiser can be a bit petty with who they insure and for what reasons.  Just hang in there and all will work out.
